It is effective against a wide range of organisms including E. histolytica, T. vaginalis, Giardia, anaerobes e.g. Bacterioides sp, Fusobacterium sp, Clostridium sp, Peptococcus sp and Peptostreptococcus sp, and moderately active against Gardnerella sp and Campylobacter sp.
